The Components of the Spell

The Ancient Throne: A jagged spire of Triassic Petrified Wood. Two hundred million years ago, this was a living, breathing tree. Through the slow alchemy of the Earth, its organic heart was replaced by stone, preserving its form for eternity. The Ethereal Sovereign: Resting atop this ancient pillar is the Turquoise Emperor (Doxocopa cherubina) from Peru. Its wings are a shimmering veil of iridescent blue a color that does not exist through pigment, but through the play of light.
